If you look at racism on a spectrum of 1-100 most peoples racism only goes so far...and watching someone burn alive in a car is far beyond the racist joke told in the office or in this case a groping pat frisk
Big thank you from 2025!
How could anyone watching the first 2 minutes of this video in the 90s not throw their guitar in the dumpster after watching this? "I want to learn guitar!" Two minutes watching Joe Pass. "Nope, not for me. I give up."
imagine being able to say "hi, my name is joe pass"
What a powerful scene. It’s so touching when she starts sobbing after being pulled from the wreckage, just like anyone who’s barely escaped with their lives. But then as she’s walking away, she turns back and looks at him and just barely nods her head ‘no’ in remembrance of what transpired before and she has this look in her eyes like, “How could you?” Then there’s the recognition in Matt Dillon’s eyes that this truly heroic deed didn’t quite, and couldn’t, expunge his intentionally evil act... followed by the recognition that he would have to live with that.
No berklee nonsense this video is awesome!
who has the tabs?

20 years later I think this is one of the great movies
That's awful.. who would ever want to play that crap
He made loads of mistakes.. got away with it back then..pure crap that was
Does anyone know what guitar is he playing? Is it a Ibanez?
It looks like it

There's a less shitty version of this on youtube. y'know without the cool chorus effect.
Can you provide link?

I don’t read music, but I think of everything in terms of chords. I think that’s a pretty common approach. It’s just a matter of having the God-given talent in the ability to develop melodic concept during improvisation. Btw I’m definitely hearing that western PA accent (I was born in McKeesport)
What pedal is he using for the wobble?
this is the gold I've been digging for
Joe Diorio says that "you don't know you are creating when you are creating because if you did know you would not be creating". Kind of an alternative to the more analytical approach of this Joe.
Guessing he played all of that in one take
You hum it, I'll play it. Incredible musician.
Something about old school cats to will never get old
she was cast... perfectly
I know this could be strange but, does anyone know what kind of swatch is he wearing?

Thank you so much for uploading this. 🙏🏿
Crazy...
The best guitar instruction video ever made! Well, except for his others.
Great video, so sad that sounds wobble like this
A true keeper! His ability on the guitar was masterful. He probably wrapped up 3-4 semesters or more of study into 46 minutes. Wish I'd run into this recording years ago. I got to see him live a couple of different times. Will always treasure it. Thank you for sharing.
Bloody interesting.
Crappy record... 😊 bye bye
Wow, this is great, the iconic Joe Pass… wish the guitar sound was better though

This scene gets me every time
I am never prepared for it to be her in the car and it is always agonizing to see them drag him out without her.
Read yet another article about how this movie is overrated... had to come back to this scene to remind myself just how wrong that article truly was...
Watching this years later how contrive this scene feels. There is enough time for them to have an exchange and the explosion happen similar to an action movie as they run away

Very complex film. Racist cop sexually assaulted her then rescues her. So called moral cop shoots and kills black lad.
gosto muito desse tipo de trabalho
What memories!!!! In 80's those tutorial-lessons were only a mirage from Italy, only few lucky and wealty people brought them back from travels.
If only people watch this regularly
SJP is the best
Came across this video. Joe Pass has always been one of my favorite guitarists. Very cool to hear him talk about playing 🙂
If you want to learn about earning forgiveness.... well, there ya go.
The time feel is such a joy, total authority !
❤
She will always remember that even though he molested her, in the end he saved her. It's enough to chew on for several lifetimes for any woman.
Yeah but he wasn't so cocky when I was teaching him all that stuff!
